Reported speech problem

Peter mentioned that he has a few bad habits at home. He still leave his shoes and bags around the house when he reaches home. Peter often feels disorganized and wanting to solve his untidiness by reminding himself repeatedly but he still forgets every time. Other than being forgetful and untidy, Peter discussed about his habit of spending money on games and consoles. He stated that his parents told him off for spending too much time and money on games. According to Peter, he is trying his best to stop doing these bad habits by being less ignorant and think of what actions to be done during every scenario.
